Congratulations!

The JROTC marksmanship team competed in Ohio at the end of last week for the Army JROTC Championship and placed third. Only the top 17 out of 1645 Army JROTC programs were invited. The top four teams (including Paschal) have been invited to travel to Alabama from 24-28 March to compete for the JROTC National Championship. There, they will compete against the top four Air Force, Navy, Marine and Army programs for the National title. This will be Paschal's 5th consecutive year to the nationals to compete in either the team or individual categories. If you teach or have taught any of the following cadets, you pay wish to congratulate them. They are: Amanda Aguilera, Jessica Haskins, Minh Nguyen, Melina Carranza and Arnold Hernandez.

The mission of the R.L. Paschal Panther Battalion is to motivate young people to become better citizens. The course focuses on discipline through the wear of the uniform and the display of proper courtesy. Cadets participate in a variety of classes including an Introduction to JROTC, Leadership Theory, Foundations for Success in Life, Wellness, Fitness and First Aid, Geography and Earth Science, Citizenship and American History and Marksmanship Training. Cadets have an opportunity to participate in many extracurricular activities. Cadets can compete on the rifle team, the physical fitness team, the armed drill team, the unarmed drill team or the color guard. Additionally, cadets can join the adventure team and participate in many outdoor activities such as camping trips and terrain walks.
The purpose of JROTC is to train and motivate students to succeed in life through various military oriented exercises and drills. There are seven class periods of JROTC a day, also known as companies.
